is a Co-Founding Principal of Keel Funds. Previously he was a Managing Partner and CEO of Timbervest where he had direct responsibility for the overall leadership, strategy and marketing of Timbervest and its related entities. Joel has been in the investment industry since 1990 when he founded Shapiro Capital Management. He also started and was the President of The Atlanta Growth Fund, a publicly traded mutual fund from 1992 to 1994.
Joel founded Timbervest in 1995 and has led the growth of the primarily institutional-owned portfolio of funds to more than $1.2 billion in assets. He has extensive experience and expertise in the acquisition, management and disposition of companies and maintains relationships with a broad and diverse group of real estate buyers and sellers, consultants, financial institutions, and government agencies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Georgia.
